The Olympia Area Chapter serves military officers in the area ranging from Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) south to Chehalis, WA and west to the Gray's Harbor area. Among the 160-plus members are officers on active duty as well as veterans and their survivors.

The chapter publishes a 5-Star award winning monthly newsletter, The Bugle. MOAA National, the various State Councils and their affiliate chapters, including the Military Officers Association of America, Olympia Chapter, are all nonpartisan organizations.  

This 5-Star Award winning website is published by the Olympia Area Chapter MOAA, which is an affiliate of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA).

Membership in the Olympia Area MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. The membership chairman is CWO3 (Ret) Jim Richards.  Download the membership application and mail to us and we will get you on board.  Current chapter dues are $20 per year for officers and $10 for auxiliary members. The balance of the year of application is free with dues in effect for the following full year. 

Chapter membership meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month. Guest speakers are from local military units, state and local government and member presentations. November to March are luncheon meetings at the Seventeen 51 Restaurant & Bistro at Panorama, Lacey, WA, beginning at 11:30 AM.  April through October, meetings are in the evening, beginning at 5:30 PM.

Board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the Tacoma Room of the Quinault Building (Panorama main building) 2ndTuesday. All members are welcome to attend. 

Philanthropic Efforts: 

Olympia Area Chapter member contributions support five community service activities during the year. They are:

and annual contribution to Shelton, Wa, NJROTC program

Military Organization Support: 3d EOD Battalion 

The chapter has "adopted" this organization to provide morale and mentorship support.
